Misty brings local roots, practical experience, and a clear focus on the issues that matter to Colwood residents. She believes every decision at City Hall should be made with care, transparency, and respect for the people it serves and the public dollars it invests.
Misty and her family have proudly called Colwood home for the past 14 years. She understands the everyday realities facing local families because she lives them, too.
Misty has spent much of her career bringing people together, solving problems, managing complex projects, and working across tourism, events, local business, and community partnerships. That experience shapes how she approaches public service.
Misty is focused on practical decisions that support community safety, responsible growth, local families, local businesses, and accountability at City Hall.
Misty Olsen and her husband bought their first home in Colwood 14 years ago and have two children in the local school system. Like many families, their days are full of work, school activities, errands, and everything that comes with raising a family. Misty still makes time for daily neighbourhood walks with their two dogs, weekends at local parks, and visits to local restaurants and shops.
Misty loves growing dahlias and has cared for many of the same tubers year after year. Each fall, she carefully digs them up and stores them for the winter, then replants them in the spring and watches them bloom again. For her, the best part is sharing what she grows: cutting bouquets for others, passing along tubers, and talking with anyone who wants to know more about the flowers.
With both her and her husband owning local businesses, Misty understands the realities of balancing work, family, financial pressure, and the uncertainty that comes when circumstances change. Through that experience, she has seen how a strong local economy supports families, workers, local businesses, and the wider community.
Her work in tourism, events, local business, and community partnerships has shaped her approach to public service: listening first, bringing people together, solving problems, and keeping the community at the centre of the conversation.

Misty is focused on practical priorities that support Colwood residents, protect what makes the community feel like home, and help the city grow responsibly.
Misty supports safer neighbourhoods, responsive local services, and clear attention to resident concerns. She is also committed to helping advance the Colwood Clinic’s work to connect more residents with primary care.
Supporting thoughtful, balanced growth that protects livability, respects resident needs, and considers the investment required to serve Colwood well.
Making practical decisions about roads, services, transportation, housing, and the infrastructure Colwood needs now and in the future.
Supporting the families, entrepreneurs, and small business owners who help Colwood thrive and stay connected.
Protecting the parks, natural spaces, neighbourhood character, and community connections that make Colwood feel like home.
Clear decisions, respectful dialogue, and careful use of public dollars so residents can trust what happens at City Hall.
During her first term on council, Misty has focused on being present, accessible, and willing to take on the complex work that comes with a growing community.
She is proud of the relationships she has built, the conversations she has helped advance, and the initiatives she has supported for the benefit of residents today and into the future.

Helped move stronger pesticide-use regulations forward to better protect Colwood’s green spaces, public areas, and community health.
Supported the advancement of an age-friendly community plan focused on accessibility, inclusion, mobility, and quality of life for seniors and aging residents.
Chaired the Waterfront Stewardship Committee, collaborating with appointed resident committee members and stakeholders to help guide the plan from draft to adoption.

Invited to participate in the Greater Victoria Hotel Development Working Group with Destination Greater Victoria and other stakeholders, helping ensure Colwood had a voice in conversations about responsible hotel development, tourism, investment, and long-term economic growth.
Misty has built strong working relationships across businesses, organizations, community groups, environmental stakeholders, and regional partners, helping to turn complex conversations into practical next steps for Colwood.
Colwood is more than a dot on a map. It is families, local businesses, volunteers, and neighbours showing up for one another. These moments reflect the community Misty is proud to call home and committed to serving.

Serving on council has been a responsibility Misty takes seriously. Over the past few years, she has listened, learned, built strong relationships, and gained a clearer understanding of what it takes to move important work forward for Colwood.
She is running again because there is more to do, and because the decisions being made now matter. As Colwood grows, Misty wants to keep showing up, asking good questions, and making practical choices that respect residents, tax dollars, and the future of the community.

Local campaigns are built through conversations, visible support, and people willing to help. A lawn sign, a delivered flyer, or a quick word with a neighbour can help more Colwood residents learn who Misty is and why this election matters.
Support Misty’s campaign by volunteering, helping deliver flyers, connecting with neighbours, or requesting a lawn sign for your property. Please include your address if you are requesting a sign.
Local campaigns are built one supporter at a time. Your contribution helps Misty reach more residents across Colwood and keep the campaign moving forward. To learn more about the campaign donation rules see Privacy Policy page. Should you want to donate by cheque, please contact Misty directly.
